Gender Mainstreaming in Energising Development (EnDev) Energy Access Projects

Project aim

To strengthen the knowledge of EnDev country-level programs to ensure their processes and actions enable women, as well as men, to participate in and benefit from energy access – as consumers of energy, as energy sector employees, and owners of businesses and enterprises.

Activities and impacts

  • Strategically and operationally mainstream gender in EnDev’s energy access projects.
  • Develop an EnDev gender strategy and practical guidelines for energy access projects.
  • Establish a helpdesk to provide all 21 countries in the EnDev Program with direct access to ENERGIA’s experience and knowledge on gender mainstreaming in energy.
  • Integrate gender into the project logframes and indicators.
  • Provide strategic advice on project management.
