As Uganda strives to become a middle-income country by 2020, the Energy and Mineral Development sector plays a crucial role as a key driver of economic growth and industrialization. To contribute to industrialization and economic growth, the Energy sub-sector is obliged to increase electricity generation and transmission, to expand development and access to sustainable energy services and to promote efficient utilization of energy.
