A major milestone in advancing gender equality and sustainable energy! ENERGIA’s trusted partner Solar Sister has extended its partnership with the Puma Energy Foundation Business Booster Programme, designed to scale women-led clean energy enterprises.
This initiative is a continuation of a partnership started in 2023 which empowered 579 women entrepreneurs in Tanzania to grow their business through its Business Booster Program. These women entrepreneurs received essential business training, product loans, digital training and access to smartphones. This enables them to boost sales, increase income, and expand clean energy access to off-grid households.
In the second phase of the partnership, Solar Sister will recruit and train another 500 women entrepreneurs, of whom 200 will also be equipped with digital business skills and tools.
Expected Impact
- 500 trained and empowered women entrepreneurs
- 16,000 solar products sold
- 2,000 clean cookstoves sold
