Gender and Energy Sector Reform
Webinar on Dec 10, 2015 9am London, 10am CET, 2.30pm IST, 3pm Dhaka
The webinar will introduce and present findings of a new project on Gender and Energy Sector Reforms led by the Global Subsidies Initiative (GSI) of IISD. GSI together with partners in three countries-Bangladesh, India and Nigeria will research gender impacts of changes in energy subsidies. The webinar will focus on the first stage of the project and will set out the research agenda for the coming years. The speakers will include IISD’s project partners in each country and the discussion will be interactive as participants are encouraged to contribute questions and comments.
This project is supported by ENERGIA, the international network on gender and sustainable energy. ENERGIA has worked to incorporate a gender approach in policy and practice. It is against this background that ENERGIA is supporting this research programme to generate empirical evidence that has a buy-in by policy makers in the energy sector.
Partners: Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, Integrated Research for Action and Development (India) and Spaces for Change, Nigeria.
Participation is free of charge.
